lenora_roseMuch pottery making. Some tv watching; Heroes remains clunkily dialogued, occasionally maddeningly illogical, and occasionally brilliant. The Sarah Jane Adventures are pretty fluffy, seeing as how they are the kid-focused spin-off of Doctor Who the way that Torchwood was the decidedly adult one. Also played some on the Wii, had some of the all important time alone with husband and never-you-mind, a few get togethers with friends, though less of those than ideal. Even some sleep. Oh, and some almost random running around the university on various bureaucratic endeavours, on my behalf and my brothers' both, which is always a way to leave me in a foul mood. And preparations for the Heather Dale concert Saturday.
But mostly pottery making. About 6 hours on Friday, 5 on Sunday, 8 on Monday but with a break for lunch, plus class time, including extra time on last Tuesday and an hour extra today, part before and part after.
The gryphon is as done as it can be pre-firing, so it's being left to dry. That and more cups have been finished, and some ready to fire. i keep meaning to ask Colin to bring a camera when he picks me, up, but since several things are in the kiln right now, today was not the day.
It is gratifying how many people have stopped by to say good things about the details I insist on adding and polishing to the cups and to these figures, though Steve did observe that the more detail one adds, the more one has to add.
Alas, I don't have many photos of current work (None of the spiralled cups, none of the unicorn aftyer firing or the other figurines in progress), but I decided it was past time to make a flickr photo page anyhow. They don't seem to want me to sort the front page of pictures, but I did manage to organise the photos inside the sets. Aside from the pottery, it is so far random, including the obligatory cute cat shots. I'll add more as I feel like it.
Apologies; some of the photos are blurry in themselves. Also, of course, I blurred the titles of the books behind the pottery. The photos with the formal background and good focus Colin took, the ones on my own shelves I did on a whim one day.
