Rather the week it's been.
I've either had too little sleep by a severe amount, or overslept to make up for it every single day, which means the tired-headache -- the sort of pulse just behind the brow bone, and the feel like the bone itself is aching, just a little, as bones do when cold -- has not stopped since last Sunday. Tired-headache is slightly the wrong definition; it comes when I oversleep, undersleep by a lot -- but not if I undersleep by an hour or two. I intend to hit equilibrium tomorrow.
This is not helped by the fact that i've let my caffeine addiction peak again, so I have a coffee grump, and possibly the slightly sharper temple-pressure of caffeine withdrawal.
Yet I've been in a pretty good mood all but Wednesday night.
Of course, I've been spending pretty much all spare time since Tuesday working on the essay; including skipping biology on Friday for editing purposes. The professor did say the test Monday would only be on information up to Wednesday's class, and most of his notes are online.
The edit means I've decided the final result is closer to B+ work. Which probably means I'll get a better mark than that; I say so not because of ego, but because I suspect I'd judge my favourite A+ essay (All about Time Bandits and Babylon 5, written for my Greek Literature in Translation course) from the first time around to be about the same. Still, nothing's sure.
Alas, this messed my week up two ways: one is that I completely failed to do anything remotely useful in the SCA-related poster project supposed to be ready for tomorrow. Unfortunate, but in all honesty, I think I'm the least useful of the three members of the group -- and as a volunteer activity, i ahd to presume that they'd be udnerstanding as it was.
The other is more frustrating -- early in the week,
brannie_bird called me to ask if I'd be able to go to MTC's performance of the Tempest with her, since her charming fiance was stuck working evenings all week, so she had a spare already paid for ticket. Of course, it would be Thursday night. I had to turn her down (And remind myself I saw the Shakespeare in the Ruins production a few years ago, and I usually prefer SIR versions). I missed choir last week, so I'd thought if the essay didn't swamp me, and I needed a break to clear my head, I'd have to get it by going to practice, not by good free Shakespeare.
Bleah. Colin had to rouse me from the essay about half an hour after practice had started just to make myself some supper as it was. The essay might not have swamped me, but for a little thing; I left my thumb drive at the University Wednesday night.
Note to those who keep important things like novels and school papers on a small, highly portable, easily left behind, especially when overtired, piece of hardware; have a phone number either on the thing itself, or in an easily accessed txt file in plain sight when it's opened.
He found me because my resume is one of the few files in plain sight, and that includes my phone number. Along with a lot of other information that made me uneasy. Plus, of course, some concern about fileds copied, files overwritten (Not worried in this specific case; it was found by someone honest. They aren't always.)
Saw
forodwaith yesterday for a quick lunch, after essay writing but before it was turned in. I felt wired, and less headachy due to an unusually strong bout of caffeination.
Glad the week is over. I do have two tests coming up rapidly, a different choral group for which i need to look at and listen to the music at some point, but I still thing I have a few hours to get in fiction again.
So, off to do that.
