Raising the Storm
New Words: 900 words, plus a scene of around 1000 words which is mixed new words and revision of old text.
Reason for stopping: I've finally ended the climactic stiff. The rest is denouement.
Tea: wildberry (tisane)
Music: Steeleye Span, The Journey,
Darling du Jour: The others who'd come to see the prisoners didn't mean to offer comfort to the doomed.
Mean Things: Good deeds being thoroughly punished -- and winding up basically futile.
There's always one more quirk in the character: I thought Carl was never going to talk about this again. Turns out he's going to talk alright, but with a hell of a slant.
Can't stop fidgeting: The scene I edited above is the one I was considering adding just before the climax, not one that goes in sequence now. At least I got back to current events after that.
I may just manage to get this done before the end of August after all. I do think that the first half of the climax needs a significant amount of side details trimmed, but I find it easier to prune out extra words than to slip in newly needed stuff.
