Had an early ultrasound Monday, as part of screening for Down syndrome and other possible developmental issues. On that front it was an abject failure; the technician simply couldn't get a view of the baby from the right angle (She could say unofficially that everything looked fine, but could not put down a number). On the other front, i could clearly see a fetus with a beating heart. Yay!

Sadly, the amount of time she had to poke and prod trying to get that view left me with a sore lower abdomen at least until yesterday, and combined with the steadily increasing knots in my back to pretty much make me half useless for the week. I don't like pain. (I clambered around a lot less than I often do at Kid City on Tuesday - it helps that Joseph needs less and less assistance to get where he wants to go - and still pretty much left myself flat for the afternoon.)

Nursery seems to be going ok. Joseph is far from the most cooperative child, but it is his first time being away from family, and the teacher, while she talks about his exasperating aspects, does say it takes time and doesn't seem surprised or bothered. Though she does want us to change days later, when her assistant starts.

Writing goes piecemeal, but there is a second reason for that: I'm supposed to be working on designs for a friend's tattoo, and I've been using some of my snippets of time working on that instead. So at least artistic progress if not writerly. Also, I spent at least part of the week reviewing the wrong story. :P

Progress notes for September 10.

Total words new or revised : -80.
Reason for stopping: time to pick up Joseph from nursery school.
Tea: Not quite. Decaf White mochaccino.
Music: MP3 player with complete music list on random. So, yeah.
Mean Things: bad pick-up artist lines, sexualized violence (Backstory only), monsters, possible time travel, and a side effect the character hasn't even noticed yet.
Currently reading: Joshua Palmatier - The Skewed Throne. Steles of the Sky - Elizabeth Bear.
Next on the to-read pile - Martha Wells - The Serpent Sea and the Siren Depths, Kate Elliott, Cold Steel

Inevitable asides:
Peter Capaldi seems to have been absorbed seamlessly into the run of Doctors. Unfortunately, even with two stories not written by Moffatt so far, I'm getting the clear feeling of Moffatt driven story issues building up. And, well, the Robin Hood one, while not Moffattian, was just silly.
