So I made two weeks in a row of getting in some writing at least five days. In fact, I *think* the second was six days. Some of the days were minuscule word counts, and some of them were edit/rewrite instead of first draft, but there was some momentum.
Which means I have to do six days again a couple of times. Even with folk fest.
But hey, it means I'm back in the loop.
Now I just have to get back into the sending stuff to agents part. Thing with that is that I'd like to add Serpent Prince back into that roster while I'm toiling on its (potential) sequels.
That sequel thing is darned hard, lemme say. The Serpent Prince ends at a reasonable break point. Soldier of the Road picks up with Ketan heading into a new country with a new and singular goal. That particular break/transition was easy. Filling in the backstory could be done gradually.
The Poisoned Tongue starts with a whole lot more backstory to fill in, some of it pretty close to right away. Also, one character figures out what the heck is going on that they missed, oh, about one good night's sleep after the last book closes. So trying to get through the opening scenes is like wading through a swampy mess, trying to avoid the deep sinking mudholes of infodumps. And the dangerous temptation of adding in one more point of view just to make things more interesting. (There's already one new one. Granted, that makes the entire series total 7 instead of 6, so we're not exactly GRRM'd to death yet. But.)
Hair pulling mess. Once I get the ball rolling things get fun; there are whole scenes I'm looking forward to writing. I just first need to get clear of this swamp.

Good thoughts for those in Alberta and Western Manitoba who are getting flooded out.
