Super short post, i hope, before I go make lunch.

Libriomancer is definitely Jim c. Hines' best yet. And it's awesome for almost anyone who geeks out on books, because the reader's love shines through. (I only say almost because I know people who geek out on books but not on fantasy)

I like the implications he worked out for the magic -- and what i didn't like (such as Lena's restrictions) I understood and saw where it was going. I liked Isaac, who shows off and knows it, who longs to have all the awesome things but also has the sense of responsibility to let them go when necessary, and who'll fight himself, never mind anyone else, to do right. I LOVED Lena, who's unabashedly sexy, not least because she's strong and competent, highly intelligent and honest. I'm very glad she made the cover to the sequel.

And I liked Smudge better here than in the goblin books, where we never really get to see how he's taken care of day to day.

Finsihed just before this: Leslie Marmon Silko - Ceremony (Not sure I have coherent commentary for this, but worth reading in many ways.)
Still reading: Tamora Pierce - In the Hand of the Goddess, Samuel Schellebarger - Lord Vanity.
Next up: N.K. Jemisin - the Killing Moon, Saladin Ahmed - Throne of the Crescent Moon, Kate Elliott - Cold Magic -- this is probably first as it's been on the shelf longer.
(and a potty training book... we're not there yet, but not too long now.)
