Quick summary:

Manitoba Comic Con went well enough.

The SCA demos were ok, but we had too many long dances, and virtually no ability to be heard over the general noise (We were not allowed to be miked). The fighting got attention, some of the faster dances did, but I think the inability to talk is worse for the impression we gave than anything else.

As for my own table; I got a lot of attention, and in spite of the lack of business cards the first day, got some interest in further/future work, too. Made $60.00 total, which isn't much but is more than the table (Actually, the table is technically free: they charge a refundable $25.00 for reserving the spot, mostly -- along with a ridiculous contract threat of a $250 no-show fee -- to make sure people don't reserve then brush it off.)

Nessie got lots of oohs and aahs (And those who've seen my website declared that the photos *don't* do her justice.) Fetch (the gryphon) got almost as many, even though the juniper was newly glued so he had a rather odd velvet-ribbon collar all weekend.

However, the three places where I'd "glued" Fetch together *between firings*, with Superdemon, a stuff I was under the impression didn't let go, let go by the end of the weekend. The glaze held one piece together until I consciously prized it apart, because the loose tooth feelign was worse than holding another loose piece. We figure it must have been the noise and other vibrations in the hall, as there dind't seem to be a sharp temperature change, adn he was cradled in transport, and I mean cradled, he was in my lap.

So Fetch is NOT going to World Fantasy. (As one friend said, "He's become a house gryphon".)He was an NFS anyhow, and would stay so (I'd sell Nessie or Sher. Fetch is MINE.) so I only lost some admiration opportunities, not a sale.

Amount of clay I must do this week means all other activities are suspended. Er. Except tomorrow's driving lesson. Or Thursday's choir practice. And my work shift Friday. And part of me is thinking I may suffer brain melt Saturday if I don't go to one or the other of the RPG or archery. (The former is likely to be better for my body, which is getting much more intermittent exercise than I like. So in spite of the fact that the latter effects more other people directly, and that they are people I would like to be social with, I may have to go with shooting pieces of paper before throwing pieces of clay, not throwing pieces of clay before shooting evil computers.)

And mandolin practice.

Yes I voted. The outcome in our riding remained much as predicted. The outcome of the election remained as predicted. The dire threats about other parties likely cancelled each other out.
