Mar. 30th, 2007 12:12 amNothing new to say about me: What happens next depends if my professor believes me when I say tomorrow that as of Wednesday, I thought this essay (The Bacchae) would be done for tomorrow's due date; as of tonight, not so much (I have over 2/3 of a rough draft, in desperate need of more citations, connecting material and an opening and concluding paragraph.)
so: Writing meme as a brief escape before sleep.
I'm answering twice, once for Raising the Storm, once for Soldier of the Road.

1 - What is your character's favorite color? Does he/she own anything that color?
Either blue or green, but any bright primary or secondary is good. He's *very* fond of the brightness and multicolouredness of his homeland. He almost certainly has clothes in those shades, and painted or beaded items.
2 - Your character wants to read a book or rent a movie -- assuming he/she were somewhere that has same -- what would he/she choose?
He's from a culture that's big on storytelling, but fuzzy on the idea of complete fiction, so while he loves a story with plenty of romance* and strong moral choices, he'd rather encounter them via myth or folklore.
* Our romance standards - mostly hetero, mostly monogamous - he'd consider unfairly restricted, though. He'd want the hero to get the girls.
3 - Does your character have any siblings? Do they get along?
One brother, two half-brothers. For the first, yes, though not without some shake-ups both ways, the second, no, but they don't hate each other so much as they just don't care but have to put up with overlapping lives, and the third, and hell no, they don't get along, not one bit.
4 - Has your character ever had a hangover? How did it happen?
No, because drinking to excess would get him in mucho trouble with his deity; it's a personal indulgence.
5 - What is your character's main mode of transportation?
Swimming. Technically, he probably walks more, but he prefers to get wet.
Soldier - Ketan
1 - What is your character's favorite color? Does he/she own anything that color?
Black or white. Currently, not really - he doesn't own much besides his clothes, and the extremes stain/fade far too easily on the road.
2 - Your character wants to read a book or rent a movie -- assuming he/she were somewhere that has same -- what would he/she choose?
Something with good military action or straight out fights, lots of gods or heroes with many and varied special powers. He'd love the Iliad, and most war movies which aren't exclusively about the Hellishness of it. He'd probably like Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan saga if he could get his head around the tech. I'm getting this weird impression that he would devour the better superhero comics if, again, the tech were accessible to him.
3 - Does your character have any siblings? Do they get along?
No, though he has a cousin who might as well be his (slightly elder) brother.
4 - Has your character ever had a hangover? How did it happen?
Probably; he's been on military campaigns, and now he's am paid transport guard. On the other hand, that's a detail he somehow doesn't bring up when he writes about what he's doing.
5 - What is your character's main mode of transportation?
Feet. He can ride and would prefer to, and in winter he'd rather ski, but his troop is infantry.
