There is one advantage to having had a couple of barely-productive writing weeks.

My computer has been blue-screening on start-up lately. When it had done it three times, I backed it up, then Colin did a few things to it he thought had fixed it. It did it again yesterday. I fetched Colin at once, before I did anything further.

So we arranged that I'd work on the social tickets a bit on his computer, while he talked about defragging the hard drive. I intended to ask him to hold on once he got it started up properly (Well, in Safe mode, but for this purpose, same thing) and let me copy the files I've been working on since my last back-up. Then we got distracted looking for CorelDraw's supplement discs, and discussing clip-art, and I forgot about the back-up.

So of course the defrag fried my hard drive.

The ONLY work I lost data from since the last back-up is Raising the Storm. As it almost always is. (I may have also lost my final copy of one review, but it's already been published at Green Man, so never mind.)

I love this story. Even on days like Sunday, I loved this story, even if I don't always love the writing of it.

Colin does intend to see if the data on the hard drive is retreivable. We're not lost yet. And I have an unusually vivid memory of what and how I wrote on Sunday, considering how long and dragged out it was. But still.

#*%$@#.
