Sep. 19th, 2011 05:52 pmThis list is specifically for people in Winnipeg or otherwise who seem to be plotting to get me baby stuff. Nothing here for anyone else.
Based on things said/implied, I probably have enough baby clothes in the newborn size, and possibly the 3 month, and enough full-sized blankets.
This is what I know I have:
(Sizes are based on baby weight; 3 month starts at 13 lbs. And sometimes on best guess. For the purpose of this list, I'm defining onesie as the bodysuit without feet that snaps over the diaper, and sleeper as the bodysuit with feet that zips, snaps, or buttons up the front.)
Newborn size:
1 onesie (Hand knitted)
9 not-knitted onesies
1 footed overall (Goes with a onesie.)
1 sleeper
2 pair socks
1 sweater (hand knitted)
2 pairs booties, one knitted, one not (The unknitted bootie size is a guess; likely, they'll do for 3 months as well/instead.)
2 knitted caps
(Obviously the hand-knitted stuff is made to work together.)
Another set of knitted stuff (Details not wholly known to me either).
3-month size
1 outdoor winter suit (We figured it would be okay if the baby was put in it while a bit small for it, but the reverse wouldn't be true)
5 onesies, 3 in one set/colour scheme.
4 sleepers, mostly fuzzy
1 pair pants (matching a onesie and sleeper)
1 cap (ditto)
1 cap
1 pair jeans
1 jean jacket
1 pair moccasins
1 pair denim 'runners"
6 month size
1 shirt
1 shirt/fuzzy overall combo
1 pair jeans
2 onesies
1 sleeper with cap (devilish theme)
9 months, 12 months or +
1 onesie
2 sweatshirts
1 long sleeved shirt
1 pair sweatpants
1 pair jeans (? they're long, but narrow-waisted
I am aware a few other things have been picked up in the 6-month and up categories, but you'd have to ask my mom for the details, as they're my mother-in-law's doing and I haven't seen them.
6 bibs (One matches the above 3 month set, the others are just bibs.)
11 cloth diapers of one kind, a ton of liners for same, 2 cloth swimming diapers, a metric TON of cloth diapers of another, 5 covering pants. (I don't have diaper pins, which the second kind needs)
32 Newborn-size disposable diapers
Several samplers of baby wipes.
11 baby washcloths
hairbrush & comb
nasal aspirator
baby nail set
4 changing pads
9 receiving blankets
1 fuzzy frog blanket
1 blue blanket
1 quilt set (Includes crib sheets & crib bumper as well)
1 more crib set (Sheets & probable Blanket) that came with the crib
1 extra sheet
bottle brushes (2 sizes)
3 baby spoons
1 crib (came with mobile)
1 portable bassinet with change table
1 glider (For me)
1 high chair
1 baby swing
1 baby bath
Baby Monitor (I had an offer to loan one, but my grandma decided to pick one up as we'd need it asap.)
1 car seat (the kind that converts size/type)
2 car sunshades
1 stroller (2 seater) -- though this being in BC and not necessarily getting here before baby is born, I wouldn't mind borrowing one if only for the winter. (I had one offer for same.)
1 Snugli (baby carry pack - front only)
A couple of versions of memory books.
Plans are in the works for:
1 handmade quilt. (or 2?)
1 umbrella stroller (?)
Furniture already in the guest bedroom/nursery that will stay:
1 dresser; it's a generic dresser, not a baby specific one, so no change table on top or anything like that, but it's uncertain whether we need more.
1 double bed (Mom has to crash somewhere)
Other commentary:
There are a lot of places to find checklists for baby stuff, from baby books to the stores themselves.
I *deliberately* avoided toys because they're such popular baby shower purchases.
6-month or older clothing is NOT inappropriate, though we haven't bought much ourselves yet.
Disposable diapers often seem like a good idea for a shower, since "of course" we'll need them, but If I'm mostly going with cloth, this might not be as useful/appreciated as it first seems.
We're also open to loans of items.
