So Jeff is battened down in Houston. (His roommates decided to head out of town, but the advisory for his area was only to brace up residences.)

Those of you know know him, wish him well.

I spoke to him earlier tonight and nothing had really started yet. But they had boarded up their windows, and he had lots of food and water, as well as flashlights, candles and matches. He said he was packed and ready to go with his roommates but decided to stay behind to keep an eye on things. I hope he's right and it doesn't get too bad down there.

The comment was more for "those who know him" than for you. And for those people, I add that he and his apartment have come through ok, but he is without power and his cell does not work in his apartment. He walked about 2 blocks away before he found a spot where it worked.
