They Even Let Drowned Rats Vote.
May. 22nd, 2007 05:25 pmWhy do people gripe so much about walking in the rain on a day that's otherwise this warm? The only time i have an issue with walking in warm rain is if I don't ahve a change of clothes available after (Okay, the time I wound up in rain for an hour and a half, but even that wasn't so much for the pouring rain as because the wet skirt tore on a branch where it wouldn't have if it were dry.)
I decided the bus home from my workplace was pointless, as it doesn't take me by the voting booth - I'd have been out in it probably twenty minutes instead of thirty-five. If I'm going to get drippinhg wet anyhow, i can save a bus ticket.
Mom, I may have just proven myself a disappointment to you, though. I voted Liberal. (This may be the first time ever.)

That's actually an inaccurate figure, because I have read a few handfuls that are more recent than that (Commentary on Heroees and Doctor Who, everything by two particular posters just 'cause, things with pretty pictures, things where a sentence aught my eye for no reason whatsoever).
But that's how many posts back I last read all of you. So if I haven't commented much... no wonder.

Date: 2007-05-23 03:45 am (UTC)Paul Hesse. Our incumbent was retiring, and while I ahve nothing against the replacement, Jennifer Howard, or her stance on issues, Paul was the one who showed up at our church's discussion of Water Rights issues and Lake Winnipeg cleanup. He seemed to have his facts straight on the latter (and remember, i just took a class on environmental issues) and I liked his stance on other things.
