I argued a point of grammar to esoteric levels in 16th C. lit today. One of my classmates finally burst out with, "How do you Know these things?"

I answered "I hang out with the wrong people."

Medieval History Quiz: B+. I was graded a B at first because the idiot TA marked one and a half questions wrong that I had *right*. For one other question, most of the class had something *in our notes* that Bowler said was wrong, but since it ws what we wrote down, and we correctly remembered what we had written down, he had to amend the mark.

Drama 1 short essay: B+, mostly, I think, on technical and formal requirements again. Well-written but too colloquial.

Sixteenth Century Faerie Queene Essay: A-, the minus mainly on one point that could have been expanded, and the more obvious than usual "mere speculation" on another.

The difference between a B+ and an A- is that the latter shows up as a full A for GPA, since there are no minuses ins the grade point rate. The professor says he has a poretty clear idea what warrants the low A versus the high B+, but I think he's just softer than he tries to be.

I'm at 93.3% on my Mathematics course - I could stop going and get that mark. I think his break point for A+ is 93: it might be 92. (His pass-fail point is only 40%, I suppose becuase it's meant to be a Mickey mouse course. It is... every time I've lost points it's been for a basic mathematical error, mostly due to not using a calculator until the multiplications and division reached absurd proportions.) I seem to still be going anyhow - at least, I did this week.

And I finally got the official A for last term's Environment course.

So, if I don't burn out on essays or exams, I'm doing alright this year.
