Well. Six days into NaNoWriMo, and I've managed a pretty decent writing pace, just a bit more than they suggest per day on average. I've done a couple of write outs (With, respectively, two other women whose names start with L, and three other women whose names start with L {Yes, two were the same two, at least}.) Apparently the Osborne and Corydon areas are replete with L-writers. I was considering doing more today, but I might call ti just for the hour; I've got some thinking to do about the upcoming stuff, because frankly I don't know what happens next with this character's thread. At least if I get jammed for real, I have another character POV to hop to.

AND I got some dishes washed and haven't neglected JoJo (I only write while he's in bed). And did several other small tasks that needed doing.

So, even if I don't "Win", I think I can be satisfied that it reminded me I can do this writing thing at a decent pace.

We have our flights for our trip!

We're heading to Edmonton the late afternoon/early evening Friday the 15th, heading to BC on the 20th, and coming home December 2. Looking at the choices now, I do kind of wish we'd decided on another day in Edmonton and one less in BC, but part of the decision was the lowest fare that will still be a single flight where possible.

Well, Canadian politics have done that thing where they all get interesting to levels where even other countries might notice we can have interesting politics, but I have nothing to say that hasn't been said better by pundits. At least *our* mayor is back out of the news (we had our own minor financial scandal that was mirroring the senate stuff in interesting ways even though it wasn't half as serious, but to the best of my knowledge, our mayor hasn't taken crack cocaine and doesn't end up in drunken stupors.)

I opted not to paint the mural today due to the thing where my heel &$#%ing hurts deciding to flare up. (Plantar fasciitis, almost certainly; not officially diagnosed by a doctor, but the symptoms fit perfectly and my mom the physio is as sure as I am.) I didn't want to stand that long. Probably helped my word count a little. But I do feel sad about the pace at which it progresses some days. At least it progresses; being able to do art other than writing is also very good for my mental health, I've found.

One day the pottery wheel shall be put together ....
