_______________
I hope this week to achieve my current goal of writing five days out of the week. (Last week I made four. As a point of detail, this is better than I've done in longer than I like to admit).
If I manage it for two weeks in a row, then I intend to up it to six. (I may need to give myself some provision for the week of folk fest. Or get the Dana working properly.)
_______________
I have a similar plan to get my wheel set up properly and get started on throwing, though no set minimum yet.
I also have an art commission to finish and a possible second one I was just queried about.
_______________
After my second of the two pairs of glasses I got 8 years or so ago broke, I got an eye examination appointment and two new pairs (Sorta. I have one which they kindly did on rush based on the pure ugliness of my tape "repair", the other is still being put together.) Pics when I have both, or at least when i don't feel quite so unkempt.
_______________
Serious worry.
Context: JoJo goes down the stairs facing them and in crawl position, quite safely, when no adult is in reach and cooperating. If an adult is in reach, he will take their hands and walk down the steps face forward (If they're not cooperating he will do his darnedest to communicate his want). This is usually pretty safe for him; the adult is of course going downstairs backwards, and this could in theory be a problem.
It was today. My father in law slipped on the last step, and fell backwards. (He has a slightly sore hip, no other concerns. He's reasonably good at watching his health, and so are we.)
When he looked up, Joseph was still standing on the step but he was also crying, loudly. My in-laws decided it was probably surprise at seeing his grandfather topple. He settled for an hour, then started in sobbing again.
Shortly after this is when I got back from my glasses-related activities. He immediately piled himself into my lap and cried a whole lot, and then got quiet and just cuddled me.
This was the time of day he's usually getting into everything and it's best to take him out to the park. So when I say he was in my lap like that for over an hour, that's not insignificant.
I found a bump on his head, in the right place if he'd slipped sideways and hit his head on the railing, then righted himself. I applied ice (frozen peas) as much as he'd let me, and fingers chilled on the frozen peas when he absolutely refused (Which was most of the time). I didn't let him sleep during that time, and I eventually gave him an infant dose of children's Advil. He did perk up after a while, responded to getting a book read to him (Though he'd normally be a lot more actively trying to turn pages for me or going off to do something else if the story was too long), and seemed his usual self by dinner and his brief playtime after.
But once he went to bed - well, he already woke and started crying once. Very not usual.
Fret. Fret. Fret.
