Another 3K words today (Soldier of the Road total so far is 54K. I think it's 1/4 to 1/3 through. Yup. This one is splitting. Good think I can kind of envision a middle break point). And even in the face of rough-draft-itis, he really sounds different from Ketan. And there's a new female character. Beforehand, I had her earmarked in my brain as competent politician with somewhat tragic past. I didn't know she was also a cute forty-something, with a belly, frizzy hair, magical abilities, and complete unflappability. That's a lot more interesting.
