Crossing my fingers
Sep. 11th, 2009 10:42 pmSo far I don't seem any sicker than I was yesterday; a cough and sore throat and a sniffle; enough that i decided to miss the first choir practice of the season, but not much more than that. (Also, I reasoned that I don't want to infect the rest of the choir, and one can't help breathe on people when projecting from a back row).
Although today, in spite of the cough, I seemed to be singing ok during mandolin practice. (Mandolin playing, not so much, but that's not the fault of illness.) No guarantee that will stay this mild, but Colin didn't have much lead in before the hammer came down, so I can hope.
Alas, he's still in rough shape. Poor fellow. He's had NO energy, so he's been spending a lot of time watching either Monty Python episodes or continuing his Dr. Who Marathon (He's reached Sylvester McCoy). If I do crash, I'll have to ask him whether there's any Colin Baker he recommends or not; i'd been half wondering about re-watching the Trial of a Time Lord run.
(And yes, mom, we've at least considered H1N1 because of the throat-first onset. I hope not, and there are a number of new colds/flus that seem to have begun running about this week.)
And the story so quickly bounced is off to the next market - and to one I have definitely read fondly. Alas, the *next* obvious one is in its usual hiatus between submission times, so hopefully this market won't be returning it to me by tomorrow.
