Edmonton so far.
Oct. 9th, 2007 11:52 amI could just about sum up the wedding we went to this weekend as someone did our own: "lots of fun, got a rubber-ducky". (Bonus points if you know who said that.)
It seems like very little to say, but really; it was a pleasantr ceremony with some nice and unique touches, in a handsome locale, the food was good, I danced a lot, Colin talked a lot with his old friends, some people flattered my outfit, they had a trivia game for each table instead of clinking glasses (Each table was a mix of bride and groom's family/friends, so there should have been a reasonable chance of each table answering right. The kiss they gave in response was measured in passion by how many answers the table got right. THough our early one 5/6 was less passionate than a couple of the later 4/6s...) The happy couple did look happy. The wedding favours were rubber duckies in various outfits, encased in scented soap. We got a devil duckie (me). We had the matching angel duckie but had it vanish on us, so Colin claimed a left behind vampire duckie.
Everything visible went smoothly. The photographers were perhaps more obtrusive than usual, but they were sincerely trying not to be so bad.
Thanksgiving with dad and Lolly's family was also fun, and terribly bad to the waistline. Lolly did try to ensure that before dessert, the food was healthy stuffs, at least, but there was soooooooo much. The company was good, though grandma Jean's hearing aid really doesn't work.
Lolly and I shopped the day we arrived, and.... ouch. The reason to clothes-shop with her; she knows what she's doing like few others. The reason not to? It's painful to the pocketbook.
Haven't figured out yet what to do with this afternoon, but we're flying out at 5:00, so we should do something out of the house.
Time for lunch...
