Progress notes for June 10, 2007:

Bird of Dusk

Total words new or revised : 1500
Probable percentage actually new: 100%
Reason for stopping: The first time, because my husband came into the doorway, and watched me with *that* grin, so I followed him away. The second time, reached scene end.
Tea: blackcurrant earlier, orange-tangerine soda later, white cranberry and peach cocktail last.
Music: Oysterband - Deserters, Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes.
Mean Things: Neither character wanted to have any of this conversation. Or any of the experience that led to it.
There's Always one more Quirk in the character: James D. rambles on and on and on when he's terrified to get to the point.

Current reading: Peter S. Beagle - The Line Between

To-read pile: I haven't entirely decided what's next: Holly Black's Valiant is on top, but may be too close to subject matter for comfort. Maybe Samuel Schellabarger.

Well, those were crappy words, and the two things that mean the most to Finno seem like they got buried in the chaos of the other revelations. (One because I cut the darlings where I made it obvious he got it.)

Not much else to say. We started my brother's game yesterday. Didn't get too far yet, but then, we had a lot of lingering character creation to do, so we spent well over half the allotted time on that. I'm playing a winter witch with a bit too much fondness for sticking her sword into evil things. it looks promising, even if it is, of necessity, a short campaign. i am hoping we'll be able to negotiate a couple of extra shorter sessions in mid-weeks, because even with a no-s**t all day Saturday, I don't know that we'll finish otherwise. Too many weekends otherwise occupied.

Going to see Pirates of the Ruritania: At World's End tomorrow in the early afternoon. I so should not be looking forward to this. But that's Hollywood; your guilty pleasures are all right there on the big screen in public, and it takes more effort to find the guiltless ones.
