Bounce! Bounce!
Nov. 14th, 2006 11:16 pmHeather Dale is in town this Friday and Saturday, and Colin and I have our tickets for Friday Night!!!!
Better yet, we didn't pay for them ourselves -- we got them as an early Twelfth Night gift from Aleksandr "Elf-Counsel", who probably can't tell around the way I tease him (Though I'm small potatoes on that front compared to many), but is someone I've always liked. And that way i can buy her new album -- which is sort of an excerpts and rarities, but hell, I won't say she's perfect, but she's pulled off some things I pretty much didn't think would be "her style", so I'm willing to give about everything she's attempted at least a listen.
In theory, that's when this essay is due, so I should be done stressing by then. I dunno... I have five books ere where I've read all or all the relevant bits, have two more which contain individual chapters or essays only that have the right focus, now I've got the baseline info, and five others of possible use. I wrote a really rough opening paragraph yesterday, and I keep coming up with bits of other paragraphs,a t least in my head... and I'm still tempted to see if I can't get an extension to Monday. because those parts are NOT cohering into a whole, and my reading has made me doubtful about the original spin I wanted to put on it all. Which is good - at least, it's better than if I ignored the polaces the facts contradict me.
Of course, Bowler is the one who emphasized that you usually have to bring in a severed limb as proof* before he'll let you get one. Maybe I'll see if I can't borrow the Barony's prop Grendel arm. He didn't say it had to be *my* severed limb. Heee.
Oddly, that stress isn't killing me at the moment. i'm in a good mood. We'll see what I say tomorrow, though.

*Yes, his exact words. Later he conceded that a doctor's note would do, and that there are extenuating circumstances besides medical ones.
