The frame of my glasses just snapped, while I was in the middle of a rather complicated funnelling of laundrey detergent into a more handy vessel (Which overflowed anyhow, perhaps because I wasn't seeing straight - I did manage to grab the lense that fell out, but my hands being covered in detergent, I didn't feel like moving the glasses.)
Plus, a $220.00 deposit just got listed as $2.20 so my bank is temporarily convinced I have even less money than I do. Good timing on my part.
Thus, I gave over the glasses to Colin to apply epoxy with great care. They'll survive a while yet. Time for an optometrist appointment, though, becasue the glasses are at least three years old.
Weirdly, the thing that occurred to me the most was that I really wouldn't be able to watch much of anything when I do my exercise session later. Which is going to make it feel Looooong.
Time to put Garmarna on and goof off a while. Too soon after dinner to do step-machine.

On another note, never watch James Bond movies in close proximity to the Princess Bride. I found msyelf contemplating Bond's wildly differing ages and appearances, and decided that "the real James Bond has been retired for fifteen years and is living like a king in Patagonia."

I've been reading books about naval actions, listening to songs about pirates, thinking about nautical imagery, and besides that, Colin bought some sets of the pirate games Perdo was demoing at our social.
This all seems to tie loosely to the Bears and northern lights stuff that was sliding its way into my mind starting some months ago. And now I'm wondering what I can learn about the history of Churchill, the Hudson's Bay, and the company by that name. (Before the Bears on Broadway project last year, anyone asked about "Manitoba" and "Polar Bears" and "Northern Lights" would be likely to mention Churchill.)
No plot or characters yet. This is probably bits of idea for the tenth or so novel from now. I'm just trying to keep a record of them when they pop up.
Sigh. Most of my current story ideas are in the same world I'm currently working in, if a rather different locale, though I had a solution for one of the messed up chapters in Bird of Dusk pop into my head, and that's set in the city that lives where the Red and Assiniboine rivers meet... about one parallel universe over.
