I thought the first Jemison was pretty standard (passive princess instantly in love with pretty, badboy god) but haven't read the second one.
Re the ms, if you feel enough time has passed, you can always write the agent and say "SInce since months have passed, I wanted to let you know that this is no longer exclusive." And send it out.
