I'm probably as happy as the average person that Osama bin Laden is dead.

But really, I think there is something EXTREMELY wrong with the Winnipeg Sun choosing to headline their front page "Burn in Hell".

(There's a reason that when I read a local paper, I read the Free Press. Actually there are several. But that up there? Is definitely a perfect example of one of the major ones.)

Yeah, that is really inappropriate I think.

I can't ever take the Sun seriously. Even before the bin Laden thing, when they publish an article about the YCJA (this was just a couple of days ago) and run a front page photo of a little kid with devil horns 'shopped on? Yeah, no.

Well, they first turned me off in high school when they were running a series of articles on kids not feeling safe in schools. One kid mentioned that he tended to tape a fork to the back of his hands as a quick safety thing (Which is the sort of stupid thing teenagers do, probably as much to impress each other as anything). So they ran a picture of some kid decked out a la Army of Darkness with a great honking pitchfork down his arm.

But the thing is, reading the articles doesn't make it any better. And their blatantly partisan editorial page. (Which sounds like I don't know what an editorial and opinions page is for. But they seem to go right past "this is my personal opinion for once" and into outright mongering.) And how they don't seem to want to print a letter that's longer than 3 inches or large text.

And their recent habit of covering half their front page image and headline with an ad *really* doesn't impress me. (They may only do this to free coffee shop copies, or something, but it's still stupid.)

It's just the free copies that have the ad. Gotta pay for those copies somehow.
