So I said very little about the Fringe this time around. Because, by sheer coincidence, the shifts I didn't need to cancel were also the usher shifts, I ended up at a total of 20 plays in spite of, well, everything that happened in the middle, and the days I missed.

Not much to say, really, unless I want to go through the best plays after it's too late to see them here. It was a pretty good Fringe for shows worth seeing, but not a standout year. I thought I was burning out early, but ended up going to shows right to the end of the last day (Finishing with the music performance abacchus and Iulianna seemed to particularly enjoy), even as I chose a few times not to go to a show when the opportunity presented. And one of the most fabulous sexiest shows made me burst into tears, proving that the trigger points for grief seem to come strongest from unexpected places.

NO rest for the wicked, though; we'll be off to a camping event in Saskatchewan, leaving Thursday, and back late late Monday. And meantime, we had dinner with a friend who was in town from Edmonton this week only (And got to see his baby boy for the first time; alas, his wife arrives after we've left, and they both leave before we return.) And Wednesday, I need to get together with the friend whose baby shower I missed on Thursday.

Sigh. A part of me would really like if it this event were yet another week off, so I could ahve some laze-time (And some more gardening time; I only just finally freed one of the tomatoes from the depredations fo the morning glories, and uprooted the weeds that were pushing two feet tall. And sewing time, as the piece of garb meant to be done for the last event won't be done for this one either. At least I can write in the car.)

Ah, well, the next couple of weeks after this will be more normal at-home time. And I will enjoy the event, as I did the Fringe. Once I push myself to get out there, I usually do. It's just the getting ready and getting there.
