I mean, you've done fairly well on making a distinctive world with some decided representation of heroes of kinds less written about, and some of the ways you explore your world of royalty are the sort of thing I can point to and say, "this is the sort of thing I want to do." But it seems to me your doubts, the ones I remember you expressing, have been more of a reaction to being told that writing at all was not suitable (which we all know is errant nonsense, but the scars remain).
